JANUARY'S SAVANNAH HERO

In our blog series, "Savannah Heroes Initiative," we aim to shine a spotlight on the Savannah Police Department, honoring officers within the department who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of the community they serve. Look for each month's officer on digital billboards throughout Savannah!

This month, we're thrilled to announce our Savannah Hero is Corporal Lawrence Hubmeier.

Corporal Lawrence Hubmeier has been dedicating two years of exceptional work to the Recruiting Unit. Not only has he had to excel in combating the trying woes of a daunting hiring process, but Cpl. Hubmeier has also had to dedicate his time and energy to train not one employee, but three employees - twof which were at a higher ranking than he was.

He’s been instrumental in creating a productive, yet safe environment for the Recruiting Team, tossing out innovative ideas and watching those ideas come to reality. Cpl. Hubmeier accomplished goals with poise and professionalism and many employees today are here because of his wittiness, yet inspiring confidence he demonstrates every day. Anything asked of him, he doesn’t complain, he just gets it done and the Savannah Police Department is very proud to have someone like him on the team. Even though he might not know it, but he’s the true face of recruiting for the Savannah Police Department.
