DECEMBER'S SAVANNAH HERO

In our blog series, "Savannah Heroes Initiative," we aim to shine a spotlight on the Savannah Police Department, honoring officers within the department who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of the community they serve. Look for each month's officer on digital billboards throughout Savannah!

This month, we're thrilled to announce our Savannah Hero is Officer Vincent Pellegrini.

Officer Pellegrini joined the Savannah Police Department in December of 2020. In September of 2023, he was selected for the Homeless Liaison position. Since then, Officer Pellegrini has done an excellent job in his new role by building relationships and forming partnerships with groups and organizations that work closely with the homeless community. Officer Pellegrini’s approach goes far beyond enforcement. He looks to work with those in our community who are experiencing homelessness to find long-term solutions rather than short-term results.

Officer Pellegrini’s efforts have resulted in impressive outcomes. He was recently complimented on his professionalism and thoroughness by an attorney that works for DFACS, and a judge who was hearing a child welfare case. His testimony had significant impact on the desirable results from the hearing.
